Andy Murray serves some serious body for Men’s Health
Andy Murray is hitting the court later today (June 3 ) to take on Stan Wawrinka in the semi-finals of the French Open, but after seeing the 29-year-old tennis pro’s latest shoot for the July issue of Men’s Health, we might have some trouble keeping our eyes on the ball (well, there’s a first time for everything).
The current world number two and two-time grand slam winner took time out of his busy sporting schedule to talk to the magazine about how he’s finding fatherhood, training, and what he’s doing in preparation for the Wimbledon later this month.
Britain’s fittest tennis player reveals how he abandoned a gluten-free diet after it caused him to lose too much energy, and admits he didn’t take to the court for two weeks after his daughter Sophia was born earlier this year – the longest he has gone without picking up a racquet since his undergoing back surgery in 2014.
Murray is currently competing in the year’s second grand slam in in Paris, where he told the BBC: “I believe I can win the event. It’s possible and only a couple of matches away now. I’ll just give everything I’ve got the next few days”.
Full interview appears in the July 2016 issue of Men’s Health, on sale now. Also available as a digital edition.
