‘Atypical’ star Brigette Lundy-Paine comes out as non-binary
The actor announced they use the they/them pronouns

Atypical star Brigette Lundy-Paine has come out as non-binary.
Lundy-Paine came out as queer back in 2018 with the Advocate but now the star of the hit Netflix series Atypical has opened up about being non-binary and announced that they use they/them pronouns.
Writing on Instagram, the actor – who stars as Casey in the Netflix – said: “I’m non-binary, always felt a lil bit boy, lil bit girl, lil bit neither.
“using they/them as of late n it feels right. scary af to come out n been rly putting this off.
“But I feel I owe it to myself and to all of us who struggle w gender.
“If you’re NB comment and celebrate yourself! u r beautiful and u r whole. thank u guys ily”
The popular Netflix show follows Sam, a teenager on the autism spectrum, who has decided he is ready for romance.
In order to start dating — and hopefully find love — Sam will need to be more independent, which also sends his mother (Jennifer Jason Leigh) on her own life-changing path.
She and the rest of Sam’s family, including a scrappy sister and a father seeking a better understanding of his son, must adjust to change and explore what it means to be “normal.”
The show has been praised for its inclusivity and even mentioned gay penguins Magic and Sphen – or better known as Sphenig – who recently hatched an egg of their own.
