Charlie King reveals his first male crush
We couldn’t help but notice one thing as the reader votes poured in for this year’s Hot 100 contest: more than any other year, a whole lot of gay and bi guys had made the list.
We decided to specially spotlight a few of them in our new Hot 100 issue, out now. Among them: TOWIE star turned Samaritans ambassador and ITV presenter, Charlie King.
What is ‘sexy’?
Confidence is sexy, not arrogance. It’s an aura that someone has, like a self-assurance of the person they are in every aspect.
What makes you sexually confident?
A connection with someone who makes you feel good and comfortable can turn into a sexual confidence. In my day-to-day life I can’t say I feel sexually confident.
Who was your first male crush?
Paul Walker’s Davidoff advert. I remember being mesmerised by his eyes.
Do you feel a pressure to look a certain way?
Funnily enough the pressure only comes from myself. I have this ethos to be the best I can be and to do things which bring out the best version of myself. So, image is part of that. It’s the wrapping of the chocolate; I want to look and feel good inside and outside.
Do you have any body insecurities?
Of course! Anyone who says they haven’t is lying. At the end of the day, there is always going to be people better looking, wealthier, more successful etc… Which is great, but again you just need to focus on yourself and making your life the best it can be. You have to remember nothing is as it seems. If you feel insecure about something, make it a goal to change it!
Have you ever been told to buff up?
No I haven’t, nor have I gained muscle to adhere to a stereotype in the ‘gay’ world. Personally, for me, I enjoy keeping fit, feeling healthy and staying in shape. It’s my choice and if I didn’t want to do it I wouldn’t.
