Fasten your seatbelts (and your wigs), because some of your favourite drag queens are going head-to-head in the ultimate test of nerve behind the wheel – and it’s all for a good cause, too.
We’ve teamed up with Jaguar for a brand new online mini-series, ‘Jag Race’, which sees drag stars from around the globe drag racing to raise money for LGBTQ charities via the Attitude Magazine Foundation.
Hosted by Drag SOS‘s Cheddar Gorgeous, the series sees Courtney Act, Peppermint, The Vivienne and Miss Tickle sashaying into the driver’s seat of Jaguar’s all-electric I-PACE in a quest for bragging rights and big bucks for their chosen LGBTQ charity.
With a top prize of £10,000 up for grabs courtesy of Jaguar, the queens will go head-to-head over three rounds as they put pedal to the metal in a drag race over a standing quarter-mile.
With the overall runner-up bagging £6,000 and the remaining queens £2,000, it’s all to play for as the queens prove who’s the, erm, fastest finisher.
The charities in play via the Attitude Magazine Foundation are the Albert Kennedy Trust, Stonewall Community Foundation, Sahir House, and Angel Trust – and you can do your bit to support the girls’ chosen charities by donating here.
Episode one of ‘Jag Race’ pits The Daredevil from Down Under Courtney Act against Merseyside Motorhead The Vivienne – and the girls have come out fighting.
The Vivenne, who is racing for Sahir House, which offers HIV support, prevention, information and training across Merseyside, says: “Today I’m absolutely thrilled because for once, I’m going to be driving a car that I haven’t actually robbed.
“Courtney doesn’t know what she’s let herself in for today. She’s going up against a Scouser and I fight til’ the end.”
Courtney adds: “Today I’m Jag Racing for the Albert Kennedy Trust, who are an amazing organisation that support queer homeless youth.
“My friends always tell me that I drive like a race car driver anyway, and I don’t think Viv will stand a chance.”
But who’s all talk and who’s all torque? Watch ‘Jag Race’ episode one to find out.
