Darren Criss opens up about THAT naked speedo photo
"I'm in this red speedo and I look kind of ridiculous."
Former Glee star Darren Criss has spoken out about his viral speedo nude snap.
Back in May, the American Crime Story star shared a photo of him posing in a mirror naked while dangling a bright red speedo over his manhood.
Now, the 30-year-old has revealed the image was taken on the set of American Crime Story: Versace.
He told The Ladygang Podcast: “We’re shooting a scene on the beach and it’s Miami. It’s fair game, we’re out in the open so there are photos of me in a scene with Max Greenfield and I’m in this red speedo and I look kind of ridiculous.
“We’re all kind of giggling about this on set, like, ‘Oh my god this is getting picked up.’ And I kind of wanted to take it back myself.”
He continued: “At the end of that day, I was completely sunburned and was essentially the same colour as the speedo and so I’m looking at myself in the mirror thinking this is too funny.
“So after those photos went out, I was like, ‘I have a better photo.’”
He added: “So that was that.”

Criss is set to play Andrew Cunanan in the show, the man responsible for shooting and killing famous fashion designer Gianni Versace on the steps of his Miami home.
Versace will also star Penélope Cruz as Donatella Versace, Édgar Ramíre as Gianni Versace and Ricky Martin, who filmed his first ever sex-scene for the show, as his boyfriend Antonio D’Amico.
The show is set to air in the US on FX in January 2018. While there’s no news on a UK air date, it’s expected to air on BBC Two soon after.
