Footballer sent off after pulling down opponent’s shorts during World Cup qualifier – WATCH
By Will Stroude
They call it the beautiful sport, but during a recent World Cup qualifier between Greece and Bosnia, Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko used some very ugly tactics on Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos – by intentionally pulling his shorts down mid-match.
Both Dzeko and Papadopoulos were both sent off after something of a brawl broke out following the incident in the last 10 minutes of their World Cup Qualifying game, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
It’s one of the strangest football moments we’ve seen since the infamous mid-match smooch between Bristol Rovers midfielder Lee Mansell and Gateshead’s JJ O’Donnell back in 2014.
