Greg Rutherford gets a gold medal for stripping naked
By Nick Levine
Olympic champion long jumper Greg Rutherford has already done Attitude’s Naked Issue – and now he’s kindly removed his clothes for our friends at Cosmopolitan.
Greg posed for the May issue of Cosmopolitan to raise awareness of male cancer for Cancer Research UK – and told the magazine: “Doing this shoot for Cancer Research UK was important to me: a friend got testicular cancer and had chemo. He’s recovered now. Checking yourself can be the difference between life and death.”
He also admitted he’s not always been as body-confident as his fans may presume. “Being told I’m sexy is something I find funny – as a ginger guy, you get a fair bit of stick growing up,” he said.
“It’s flattering, though. I’m in a lucky position where I get to train every day for a living – but I still have my body hang-ups. I didn’t take my top off for years in training because I thought other athletes were in better shape.”
The full hi-res image of Greg is available to ogle in the May issue of Cosmopolitan (see right), which you can pick up digitally on Apple Newsstand.
Oh, and you can find further exclusive Greg-related content here.
Thank you Cosmopolitan and thank you Greg Rutherford, MBE.
