New gay play We Raise Our Hands in the Sanctuary previews at The Albany in Deptford, London, tonight (July 2), and we’ve got some rather dashing pictures of the show’s cast to share…

Preceding the start of the show’s run later in the year, tonight’s work-in-progress preview from theatre company Inky Cloak will be followed by a two-hour dance party from House Meat Disco’s Severino, featuring tunes from the era to get you in the disco spirit.

We Raise Our Hands in the Sanctuary tells the story of two poor black teenagers  who meet stitching sequins on a drag queen’s dress in a dingy downtown club in ’70s New York City. Dreaming of a better life, the pair set off on an odyssey through the emerging underground gay club scene and make a pact that they will conquer the world, together.
