London LGBTQ venue Ku Bar Leicester Square reopens today

25 years to the day that Ku Bar first arrived in London!

Words: Jamie Tabberer

London LGBTQ venue Ku Bar is to reopen its doors at 5pm today (8 December 2020) following the recent coronavirus-induced lockdown in the UK.

What’s more – and in a nice bit of synchronicity – the space is reopening exactly 25 years after it opened its doors for the first time.

And it’s also returning with a brand new kitchen.

“Ku Pizzas will be on offer to all the customers from Tuesday”

The KU Group owner Gary Henshaw said in a statement: “Over the last six weeks [we] have invested in a Ku Kitchen and over the next few weeks will introduce an exciting Gourmet Pizza & Tapas menu.

“From Tuesday Ku Pizzas will be on offer to all customers.

“We advise reserving tables in advance to avoid disappointment. Book online at ku-bar.co.uk.”

On Instagram, a rep for the bar added: “Since the government is doing its best to keep us safe by not allowing us to listen to loud music, sing or dance… We’re going to have a laid back Prosecco Toast and maybe a few surprise guests turning up to enjoy the moment as it is for now.

“Once the wait for this virus to be out of the way is over, mark our words, we will be having the ultimate Ku-style celebration.”

The Ku Group is also made up of KuKlub, Ku Soho and She Soho.
