Louis Smith shares tips for the perfect shirtless selfie
By Will Stroude
‘s latest cover star Louis Smith has shared his tips for taking the perfect shirtless selfie.
Olympic gymnast Smith, 25, is known for posting the odd (ahem) topless snap on Instagram – check out one here, and another here. He even posted a video clip of himself wearing a thong.
Chatting to Attitude after his recent cover shoot, he explained his methods for getting those famous selfies totally spot-on.
Read his three-stage method below.
1. “Make sure the lighting is good. Preferably you want an overhead light, because the contrast works well with the body and the light. That’s the first thing.”
2. “You gotta be able to have a steady hand while tensing, ‘cos if you start tensing and shaking because you’re not used to it, you’re going to get a blurry picture. So just make sure you can hold the camera steady.”
3. “Making the picture look light-hearted is important. You don’t want it to look like you’re posing for Attitude or Vogue – you want to make it look casual – like ‘Oh I literally snapped this while I was walking past the mirror.’ If you try too hard, people are gonna go ‘What you doing you fool?!’
The latest issue of Attitude, featuring Louis on the cover, is available to download now, and also includes exclusive interviews with Conchita Wurst, Dolly Parton, Kristin Chenoweth and Dolly Parton.
