Fellow musician Josef Salvat opens up about being no stranger to self-isolation, detailing how he went into meltdown mode in Berlin for over three months which led to the creation of his aptly-named new record Modern Anxiety, and how his latest single, Paper Moons, was written about a friend’s chemsex struggles.

Artist provocateur Sam Morris bares all as he talks about his work, which aims to shine a light on the softer side of gay sex by blurring the line between art and porn – often with himself as the subject.

Artist and activist Topher Campbell shares his story with us, reflecting on his long journey towards finding joy in the richness of his identity as a black gay man – a topic he explores in his short film Fetish.

In our business profile section, we meet Josh Morris and Greg Davis, founders of inclusive sex-toy company Kandid – no doubt getting inundated with orders as we all seek new ways to satisfy ourselves in lockdown.

Speaking of satisfaction, bearded, beautiful and unapologetically black drag queen Freida Slaves takes over our Big in a Wig page – just don’t mention the words “belly button” to her…

Pioneering actor-turned-activist (and now House of Lords member) Michael Cashman shares his Life Lessons with us, opening up about life after the death of his partner, co-founding Stonewall and his take on Brexit.

For our newly-reworked Word on the Street feature (now Word on the Web during these troubled times) we had the pleasure of speaking to an orgy of fansite performers to find out what they wished they’d known about gay sex growing up, from consent and experimentation to aloe vera gel and chastity!

And in Real Bodies, we meet tattooed amputee world pole champion Andrew Gregory, who lost his right leg after a motorbike accident but found a new lease of life when he started spinning and winning.

This issue’s style section sees a host of queer creatives – including Matt Lambert, Portis Wasp and Ashish Gupta – reveal how sex and sexuality influences their work and why it’s important to keep pushing the envelope in fashion.

Rounding off the issue, the terminally delightful – or currently terminally detained – drag queen BenDeLaCreme shares a few of her Favourite Things, from Disney princesses and musical characters to her Drag Race best Judy.
