The Vivienne ‘got a pardon’ from Nancy Pelosi for Drag Race in the US
EXCLUSIVE: “A certain production company messed up my visa,” ru-veals Attitude’s Inspiration Award winner. “Nancy actually got me into the country!”
The Vivienne has claimed she “got a pardon” from US politician Nancy Pelosi in order to film this year’s season of All Stars.
The Drag Race UK season one winner, from Liverpool, filmed the All Winners season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: All Winners, won by Jinkx Monsoon, in Los Angeles.
However, Viv – who won the Inspiration Award at last week’s Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, Powered by Jaguar – ru-vealed that she almost wasn’t able to compete at all.
“Nancy actually got me into the country,” The Vivienne told Attitude in a new interview. “I got a letter of pardon.”
“They had to fly me in via Mexico!”

The 30-year-old explained: “A certain production company messed up my visa. So I was a day late, because my visa had expired. They had to fly me in via Mexico. I got a pardon from Nancy Pelosi in writing. Thank you, Nancy!”
Thank you, indeed!
Elsewhere, when asked if she met Nancy’s fellow All Stars judge Naomi Campbell, The Vivienne replied: “Naomi was two hours late! We didn’t get to meet her off-camera.”
When asked if she’s going on tour with Jinkx, Viv replied: “Everyone’s asking for it, but I don’t know! I love her to bits and think it’d be epic. We’re so similar. We say, ‘I wish we’d met out of a competition setting.’ Am I open to it? I’m open to anything that makes me a bit of money, love!”
On the state of drag culture today, The Vivienne said: “It’s come to the point that the big stars, the big personalities — where are the Alyssas, the Biancas? They’re all 10-year-olds who can’t pick up a mic, no experience, who haven’t trodden the boards. They can’t do anything!”
