The White Lotus airs yet another gay sex scene – and it’s the best one yet

From Armond rimming Dillon to Quentin bending over for “naughty nephew” Jack, The White Lotus has generated countless headlines with its gay sex scenes.

And it’s not done yet.

Season two of the Mike White-directed show has just aired its penultimate episode, and it features a same-sex hook-up between two of our favourite characters. (Spoilers ahead.)

Namely, aspiring musician and burgeoning sex worker Mia (Beatrice Grannò) and repressed hotel manager Valentina (played by Sabrina Impacciatore).

But unlike prior scenes of its ilk, this one showcases a bit of tenderness. Hurray for Valentina!

Recent episodes of the HBO hit have seen frosty relations between Mia and Valentina begin to thaw, with the former offering to help the latter explore her sexuality in return for a singing job at the hotel’s restaurant.

In a new interview with Vulture, Sabrina Impacciatore said of the scene: “Mike was very passionate about this moment. The hookup makes Valentina finally free.”

Discussing Valentina being rejected by her colleague Isabella, Impacciatore continued: “In that moment of vulnerability, there’s this meeting of a lifetime with Mia. Even if they’re not going to be together, who cares? There is a click. Mike […] said: ‘Sabrina, Valentina can’t be sad when she understands she is not going to have a relationship with Mia.’

“Mike wanted to really affirm the fact that the hookup makes Valentina finally free. That was really touching to me. I cried a lot off-camera with this character. Even now I get emotional. I love her so much.”
