Young Royals season two trailer sees tensions run high
"Just because you're not together now doesn't mean it's over"
We have the first trailer for the second season of the Netflix series Young Royals and there is plenty of tension and drama to come.
Young Royals follows Prince Wilhelm of Sweden (Edvin Ryding) who attends the fictional elite boarding school Hillerska, where he meets Simon (Omar Rudberg).
In the first season, the pair’s romance was leaked to the public by Wilhelm’s second cousin, August. Wilhelm’s mother, the Queen, gets him to make a statement denying he’s in the video, which causes Simon to break off their relationship.
Early on in the trailer, Prince Wilhelm says, “It hurts so much”.
“Just because you’re not together now doesn’t mean it’s over,” his friend Felice tells him as we see both men longing for one another.
While Simon admits he’s been thinking of Wilhelm over their recent school break their interactions are fraught.
Things are further complicated by the arrival of Marcus, who introduces himself to Simon with a visvuble hint of attraction between them.
Elsewhere, people try to forcibly take Wilhelm away after he defiantly states “I’m staying”.
He and Simon embrace on a couple of occasions. At one point Wilhelm pulls Simon in while the two hug more gently as one of them asks: “What will happen to us?”
Meanwhile, August struggles with the ramifications of leaking Wilhelm and Simon’s video at the end of the last season.
In one scene he tells Sara, Simon’s sister, ‘I don’t think you understand how much I regret what I did
Later, Wilhelm confronts August about his actions asking, “You think you can get away with anything?”
Netflix has already released the first four minutes of the show’s second season.
Young Royals season 2 arrives on Netflix on 1 November. Season One is available to stream now.
