Attitude is seeking a Commercial Content Editor
The UK and Europe’s best-selling gay magazine and the world’s biggest LGBTQ media brand is hiring a Commercial Content Editor.
Attitude is the world’s biggest LGBTQ+ media brand (across print, digital, online, social, video and live events) and the best-selling gay magazine in the UK and Europe.
We are based mid-way between London and Brighton (40 minutes from London Victoria by train) in a cool converted barn with a) countryside views b) air conditioning and c) a bar. Any or all may be important to you.
We are recruiting a full-time Commercial Content Editor to pitch for, produce and deliver native content with, and for, key commercial partners across multiple channels, and to provide editorial support for Attitude’s physical events.
Here’s the low-down:
Job Title: Commercial Content Editor
Level: Mid-level
Salary: DoE, includes five weeks’ paid holiday and pension contributions
Experience required: Experience in print and/or online journalism, and/or sales. Candidates with a B2B background welcome.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Delivering highly-engaging, brand-enhancing native commercial content in step with LGBTQ+ community values
- Developing key relationships with existing clients and potential new clients, including attending lunches and events various
- Creating commercial content pitches to win new campaigns and strengthen existing ones
- Liaising with Attitude’s commercial and editorial teams to optimise the creation and delivery of commercial content
- Managing a commercial content pipeline
- Writing/creating commercial content and commissioning/managing a team of creators, depending on the size of the campaign
- Editing, fact-checking, and sense-checking commercial content
- Overseeing a content calendar
- Picture sourcing where appropriate Liaising with the social media producer and video editor to develop social-first and video-first commercial campaigns
- Uploading content to the Attitude website via WordPress
- Contributing to the brand’s overall marketing strategy
- Producing end-of-campaign round-up documents/presentations
- Assisting with the production of Attitude events to ensure clients’ needs and deliverables are met
- Some editorial contributions welcome
Requirements:
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Some sales or marketing experience would be useful
- An impressive list of contacts welcome
- A creative, ideas-driven approach to commercial content of all kinds, to make said content work for the client and the Attitude brand, while engaging the wider community
- Budget management
- Good communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills
- A firm grasp of what matters to gay men and the LGBTQ+ community
- A love and passion for LGBTQ-focused media
- Proficient in WordPress, Google Analytics, various social media platforms, and other publishing software
Skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, business, or related field preferred
- NCTJ accreditation preferred but not essential.
