Beyoncé-inspired skyscraper to be built in Australia

A Beyoncé Knowles-inspired skyscraper is to be built in Melbourne, Australia, after receiving planning permission.

According to DigitalSpy, Australian firm Elenberg Fraser has been given approval to construct a 226-metre high skyscraper inspired by the fabric-wrapped bodies in Beyoncé’s Ghost music video, which featured on the star’s self-titled fifth album in 2013.

The bootylicious 68-storey building will accommodate 660 apartments and a 160-room hotel, according to developers.

“This project is the culmination of our significant research,” the company said in a statement. “The complex form – a vertical cantilever – is actually the most effective way to redistribute the building’s mass, giving the best results in terms of structural dispersion, frequency oscillation and wind requirements.”

“For those more on the art than science side, we will reveal that the form does pay homage to something more aesthetic – we’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s Ghost,” they added.
