First LGBT event-finder smartphone app launched
Promotional feature
Billed as the ‘first LGBT event-finder for all smartphones’, the newly-launched aboutapp offers travellers and locals access to information from thousands of venues, event organisers and pop-up nights of interest to the LGBT community.
“My LGBT friends weren’t asking ‘where shall we go tonight?’ they were asking ‘what shall we do tonight?’. With monthly events popping up all over the country, a host of regular events and more and more of the familiar places we’ve always known closing down, how do people keep up?” said the app’s creator, Stacey Lidgate, an ex-Army officer and proud member of the LGBT community.
“I wanted to create an easy to use app that lets our community search for the events are out there, so no matter how you identify, what you’re into or where you are, aboutapp makes your search personal – set your filters, see the results and explore events,” she said.
The team at about app have just launched ‘Talking About’, an LGBT-focused new blog. They’re also working with their partners in New Zealand to expand internationally with the aim that you can use the app anywhere in the world – hop off a plane in a different city and have access to information about the latest LGBT events.
Aboutapp is available for from all app stores or link direct from the website.
