Restaraunt Review | Simple Health Kitchen – St Paul’s, London

By Ross Semple

A recent survey found that 58% of office workers have eaten the same lunch for the last two year. And as if that weren’t bleak enough, apparently the most popular lunch option is the ham sandwich. The holy trinity of awful lunch choices – bland, depressing and unhealthy.

Introducing the PERFECT antidote to your lunchtime woes: Simple Health Kitchen! It does exactly what it says on the tin (or rather, on the recyclable, biodegradable food vessel). It’s healthy, simple food, a fresh and crunchy alternative not only to sandwiches, but to an increasingly artery-clogging world of pulled pork burgers and creme egg cafes!

Their food is all locally sourced with no added nasty bits, so perfect for detoxing after a heavy weekend (we’ve had plenty of those) or simply just wanting a change from the usual. It’s on a side street two minutes from St Pauls, so if you’re one of London’s thousands of office workers in the area, it’s a great spot to pop into for a quick, easy lunch and a head-clearing antidote to the bleakness of the usual MEAL DEAL.

We went down just after the lunchtime rush and sampled a selection of their salads, including crunchy kale and shaved cauliflower, as well as a deliciously tender and non-cholesterol loading turkey fritter. All washed down with superfood smoothies! We left feeling energised, detoxed, and ready to take on our next night of getting wasted with drag queens. Hooray!

Simple Health Kitchen is at 73A Watling Street, London EC4M 9BJ. Open 7:30am – 9pm Monday to Friday.
