Review | Rockwell East is the perfect aparthotel based in the historic heart of London
The hotel is fitted with cutlery, crockery and oven for those wanting to cook for themselves

When the opportunity presented itself to see the play The Inheritance, the boyfriend and I were ecstatic. But the running time of seven-hours would have made it hard for us to make the train home to Brighton so we booked ourselves an apartment at the brand new Rockwell East.
The property has 57 apartments and is located just a block south from two of London’s most iconic landmarks, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
When we arrived we were greeted at the lobby by 24-hour receptionist. The small lobby also has a warm and welcoming all-day brasserie and bar.
We booked into a studio apartment for £150, but they also offer one-bedroom and family-sized apartments sleeping up to four.
The apartment’s design aesthetic is Scandinavian-cool with lots of blond wood meets 1980’s Miami with retro prints and primary colours.
There are nice cosy touches like Egyptian cotton sheets and Merino wool blankets on the bed, White Company toiletries in the bathroom and a woven rug on the hardwood floors.
We go through all the kitchen cupboards and find everything we could have needed to cook up a feast.
Cutlery and crockery, pots and pans and a block of knifes were all gleaming and ready to use with the oven and hob.
Cleaning up is easy with the dishwasher and for travellers on extended trips the washing machine and dryer will be a god send.
When we get back late we start and then fall asleep to one of the free movies on the entertainment system.
I woke up in the morning to the sound and smell of my boyfriend brewing up his caffeine fix from the Nespresso machine.
We head downstairs for a lovely á la carte breakfast though we could have had an organic breakfast package from Abel and Cole sent to the room sent to our room if we could have been bothered to cook ourselves.
All in all, The Inheritance is a West End must see and Rockwell East makes for a very pleasant East End stay.
