Former England rugby player and X-Factor star Levi Davis has been reported missing in Spain.

On Sunday (6 November) Bath Rugby launched an urgent appeal for any information about the whereabouts of the 24-year-old who was last seen at a pub in Barcelona, Spain on 29 October.

Davis, a rugby union and Worthing RFC player, is most recognisable for his appearances on ITV’s Celebrity X-Factor in 2019 and E4’s Celebs Go Dating in 2020.

Coming out as bisexual in 2020, he was the first professional rugby player to identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Sharing the news publicly, Davis shared with the Daily Mail at the time that he “had hidden [his sexuality] well but I couldn’t keep it secret any longer” when he told his rugby team via a text, who were wholeheartedly supportive.

He added his coming out was spurred by refusing to hide his true self: “I don’t know yet where I am going, but by talking today I can walk hand-in-hand with whoever I want and it won’t matter any more because it’s out there.”

Davis’ friend Richard Squire told the Irish Sun that Davis “announced suddenly that he was going to meet friends in Barcelona.”

“But he didn’t say who they were and we haven’t heard from him since I received a video from the Irish pub on October 29,” Squire added.

“There’s been no word from him since and his family and everyone who knows him is getting increasingly worried.”

Former England rugby player Tom Varndell urged anyone who has seen Davis in the past two weeks to contact him.

On Saturday (5 November), he tweeted: “If anyone has seen or heard from Levi Davis in the last two weeks could you please drop me a message asap. Many thanks.”

Varndell followed up on Monday (7 November): “Thank you to everyone who has made contact regarding Levi Davis. The support has been fantastic.”

“If there is anyone else that may have had contact or seen him in Barcelona in the last 5 days please message here or contact the West Midlands police,” he re-emphasised.

A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office told the BBC that they are “providing consular support to the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain.”
