Leslie Jordan has died at the age of 67.
The beloved actor, comedian and star of hit US sitcom Will & Grace is suspected to have suffered a medical emergency while driving and crashed his car into the side of a building, TMZ reports.
The LA Times reports that Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene in Hollywood on Monday 24 October.
Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1955, Jordan moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s, and by the middle of the decade had begun acting with smaller roles on television.
The actor was best known for his roles as Lonnie Garr in US sitcom Hearts Afire and the irrepressible Beverly Leslie in Will & Grace, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006.
After portraying fan favourite Beverly during Will & Grace‘s original eight-season run from 1998-2006, Jordan again reprised the role from 2017-2020 following the show’s revival.
The popular actor also secured regular roles on Ryan Murphy drama series American Horror Story from 2013 onwards, and earlier this year appeared as a guest director on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 episode ‘Moulin Ru: The Rusical’.
In recent years, Jordan’s effusive and uplifting video updates on social media saw his internet profile soar, with his hilarious and eccentric updates from the early days of 2020’s Covid-19 lockdown helping him amass an Instagram following of almost six million.
