A “Bathroom Cop” follows woman into restroom after mistaking her for a man

By Fabio Crispim

The Dallas Observer reports

that a self appointed “bathroom cop” barged into a woman’s restroom after mistaking a woman for a man.

Jessica Rush, who manages a local health-food takeout, wanted to use the restroom at Baylor Medical Center in Frisco, Texas on Thursday (April 28) but was interrupted. Rush was born and identifies as female, “I look very much like a girl,” she told the Dallas Observer. “I’m not trying to transition, nothing like that.”

On Thursday, Rush was wearing a t-shirt and basketball shorts and wears her hair in a bleached blonde fauxhawk.

Rush managed to catch some of the incident on video where the “bathroom cop”approaches Rush and tells her, “When I saw you enter I thought you was…”

“A boy?” Rush replies.

He then says, “Yeah, it was kind of confusing. You dress like a man.”

The man later explained that he was concerned that a man was going to use the same bathroom as his mother.

“The point is I was helping my mum. I was confused when I see someone entering the woman’s bathroom looking like a man. Each one of us is man or woman so… I wanted to make sure she was going to the right place.”

The Dallas Observer reports that this isn’t the first time this has happened and when Rush was at Hobby Lobby, a woman confronted Rush when she wanted to use the restroom her granddaughter was using. Another woman also confronted Rush after walking into a 24 Hour Fitness locker room before recognising that she was a woman and apologising.

“It makes me feel super insecure,” she said.
