ABC News reporter stages adorable proposal under Eiffel Tower
By Will Stroude
ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez has set the bar for romantic proposals seriously high after popping the question to boyfriend Tommy DiDario in the middle of Paris yesterday (September 17).
The couple have been enjoying a trip around Europe in recent weeks, and in true fairytale style Benitez decided to get engaged on iconic Parisian bridge the Pont de Bir-Hakeim, overlooked by the Eiffel Tower and with a photographer in tow to capture the life-changing moment.
“Time is what’s left behind in the wake of love,” the 29-year-old reporter wrote on Instagram, alongside a snap of the beautiful moment he popped the question, which shows DiDario holding his hand over his mouth in shock.
DiDario, an actor, lifestyle blogger and writer, also took to social media to share the happy news, posting a photo of the couples’ matching rings. “Today I said yes to my true partner in life, couldn’t be happier to stand next to you forever,” he wrote.
And in another ridiculously cute picture of the pair embracing by the River Seine, he added: “Celebrating a magical day in the city of love! Much thanks for all the kind words and well wishes!”
Congratulation, Gio and Tommy! If your wedding is half as amazing as your engagement, you’re in for quite the day…
