Anna Paquin: ‘Bisexuals can be monogamous’
Anna Paquin has hit out at people who presume that bisexuality is not conducive with being monogamous.
The True Blood actress both came out as bi and married her co-star Stephen Moyer in 2010.
“There’s people that are going to probably go to their grave thinking whatever they think about the LGBT community – that’s their problem, not mine,” she said, talking to the Huffington Post.
“And there’s people that think that monogamy and bisexuality are mutually exclusive. Again, their problem not mine.”
Paquin, who won an Oscar aged nine for her performance in The Piano, went on to reveal that she has encountered “vile” homophobic since coming out as bi – but pledged to keep on speaking candidly about her sexuality.
She explained: “The reason I feel like it’s important to talk about this stuff is that the more normal and, frankly, mundane and boring this stuff becomes, I think the better it’s going to be for everyone who is part of our community.”
Meanwhile, we recently celebrated Paquin’s True Blood co-star Joe Manganiello by giving him his own Shirtless Picture Special – check it out here.
