Anti-gay Nebraska State Senator told to resign after alleged sex video found on state computer

By Fabio Crispim

Governor Pete Ricketts has allegedly told Nebraska State Senator Bill Kintner to resign after a sexually explicit video of him was found on his state computer.

Nebraska law forbids public officials from using their state computers for nonessential personal activity.

According to the New Civil Rights Movement, the investigation began a year ago when Kintner informed Nebraska state Patrol about a “potential internet scam” that occurred while he was using his computer in Massachusetts.

“Due to the ongoing investigation of this issue, I have been unable to say anything publicly. If the allegations are true, Senator Kintner needs to resign,” Governor Ricketts said in a statement.

Kintner is married to the governor’s chief policy advisor, Lauren Kintner and he has opposed same-sex marriage, gay adoption and transgender rights.

The investigation has been handed over to the watchdog group The Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission who are expected to return with an answer to the case in August.
