Apple CEO Tim Cook tops OUT’s Power 50 list

Apple’s out gay CEO Tim Cook has topped Out Magazine’s Power 50 list.

The annual list ranks powerful LGBT men and women in America by how much influence they have, and more importantly, how they harness that power for the good of the community.

Cook, who placed second on 2014’s list, has replaced Ellen DeGeneres at the top of this year’s list. Finishing out the Top Five are CNN host Anderson Cooper, MSNBC presenter Rachel Maddow and US Senator Tammy Baldwin.

Other notable entries on the list include Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox who places ninth, making her the first ever trans woman to finish in the Top 10.

Meanwhile, Real Housewives creator Andy Cohen also sits in the Top Ten, whilst Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto finishes in 17th.
