Marvel Entertainment chairman, Isaac Perlmutter, faces backlash after donating $2,800 to the Trump campaign.
Last week, celebrities publicly cancelled their memberships to Equinox and SoulCycle after it was revealed that the billionaire investor behind the businesses would be hosting a fundraiser for Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.
But now, Marvel Entertainment is facing criticism after government reports revealed the current chairman Isaac Perlmutter has donated $2,800 to the Trump campaign and almost half a million dollars to Republican committees and other Trump campaigns.
Call Me By Your Name star Armie Hammer took to Twitter to post about Perlmutter and wrote: “Hey, while everyone seems to be on this Equinox thing, it might be a good time to mention that one of Trump’s largest financial contributors is the chairman of Marvel Entertainment (Isaac Perlmutter)….. jussayin.”

As the chairman of Marvel Entertainment, Perlmutter overseas the Marvel Comics, the pre-Disney+ TV shows and Marvel Animation projects.
Although Marvel Entertainment is a different entity to Marvel Studios, while he was the CEO he had a lot of influence on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the ‘creative committee’.
However, their involvement in the films ended in 2015 when Kevin Feige started reported directly to Disney chief Alan Horn.
