Australian cricketer caught fondling teammate’s bum during National Anthem
By Will Stroude
Team bonding is strong Down Under – and that’s apparently what Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja had in mind as he fondled his teammate’s bum before his first match for the squad in New Zealand last weekend.
The 29-year-old batsman was caught having a sneaky grab of Adam Zampa’s butt as the team linked arms while singing the Australian National Anthem in Wellington , in a video that’s already been viewed over two million times.
Filmed by a fan in the stands as the team prepared to face off against New Zealand in last Saturday’s one-day international, it shows Khawaja doing really quite a thorough job of getting to know his new teammate – and it must have really had a positive effect: In his first game with the baggy greens, Zampa took 2 for 57 from his 10 overs on debut.
When asked on Twitter about the incident, Khawaga says he didn’t realise the eyes of world would be on him, but added everything was consensual.
“Oh boy. Didn’t realise there were cameras filming from behind,” he tweeted.
“It was all consensual. Just having a joke with the debutant, he added.”
