Beth Ditto marries partner and former assistant Kristin Ogata

Beth Ditto has married her long-term partner Kristin Ogata.

The 33-year-old Gossip frontwoman legally tied the knot with her former assistant on New Year’s Day in the couple’s home state of Oregon.

Ditto shared the news on Facebook, saying: “Legally married finally, a year later! Thanks everyone who fought to make gay marriage legal in Oregon! In 2015, the whole US!”

The couple previously had a ceremony in Hawaii in summer of 2013, though same-sex marriage did not become legal in the state until December of that year. The pair decided to formalise their marriage after Oregon legalised equal marriage in May last year.

In an interview with The Observer in 2012, the former Attitude cover star revealed her desire to marry Ogate, saying: “I was born to be married… I love the idea of being partnered for ever. I love my girlfriend, we’ve been best friends since I was 18. There’s not a thing we haven’t been through except for marriage.”
