Billy Crystal has attempted to clarify comments he made about gay sex on television.
Crystal – who played one of US TV’s first ever gay characters on 1970’s sitcom Soap – argued this week that the media’s portrayal of gay sex scenes is becoming ” a little too much” for him, going on to say that he doesn’t want it “shoved” in his face. Find out more here.
Responding to the controversy surrounding his comments, Crystal told Hollywood Reporter that he didn’t intend to give the impression that he was only referring to gay sex.
“What I meant was that whenever sex or graphic nudity of any kind (gay or straight) is gratuitous to the plot or story it becomes a little too much for my taste,” said the comedian.
Meanwhile, How To Get Away With Murder creator Shonda Rhimes was recently forced to defend the popular drama’s gay sex scenes – find out more here.
