Blake Shelton in hot water as fans unearth past homophobic and racist tweetsbranded as homophobic and racist after old tweets resurface

Country singer and The Voice coach Blake Shelton has been receiving backlash lately after a series of old tweets of his resurfaced online that were problematic.
The unearthed tweets were posted during 2011, but some go as far back as 2009, causing fans to describe him and his tweets as homophobic, sexist, racist and Islamophobic. Shelton even light-heartedly jokes about rape.
Several of his tweets which caused his fans to label him as homophobic states: “I think the bartender lastnight put some of that date rape drug in my drink…… OMG!! He was like soooo cute too!!!”
Another says: “Standing in line at a coffee shop in LA talking with the man in front of me. He orders a skinny caramel latte. I couldn’t tell he was gay!!!”
“Wish the dickhead next to me would shut up or learn some English so I would atleast know what he’s planning to bomb!!” Shelton tweeted in 2011.
Though the tweets mentioned have since been deleted, Twitter users have screen grabbed the photos and reposted them on social media.
