The body of a transgender woman has been found in Dallas sparking concern for the transgender community in the Texan city.
Chynal Lindsey – a 26-year-old African American transgender woman – was pulled from White Rock lake over the weekend and police have said it bore ‘obvious signs of homicidal violence’,
Renee Hall, the city’s police chief, said: “We are concerned. And we are actively and aggressively investigating this case.”
Lindsey’s death has sparked worry among the transgender community in the Texan city as police are currently investigating three similar deaths.
All the victims are thought to be African American transgender women.
“Although these cases are not directly related at this time, they do bear some similarities that the public should be made aware,” a police spokesperson said on May 20.
