By Will Stroude
A large fire has broken out in Manchester’s gay village, just off Canal Street.
According to Manchester Evening News, smoke was seen billowing across the village just before 11.30am, after a fire erupted at Safad’s takeaway, near to local gay establishments like G-A-Y, Baa Bar and Coyote’s.
Nearby buildings have been evacuated and emergency services are reportedly on the scene. There have been no reports of injuries so far and it is unclear how the fire started.
