Brighton couple viciously assaulted in alleged gay hate crime

A gay couple from Brighton have been viciously attacked in an alleged anti-gay attack.
Dain Luka and James Floz Loxton say were on their way home from a night out when two men began shouting homophobic abuse at the pair. Despite ignoring the comments, they claim the men proceeded to attack them in a brutal attack that left both of them with multiple injuries.
Dain, who says he was kicked in the face by his assailants, has been left with multiple facial fractures and unable to see out of his left eye, which is “full of blood”.
Sharing pictures of the couple’s horrific injuries on Facebook, Dain revealed that it will be several days before doctors are able to tell whether his vision will return.

James, whose phone was also stolen during the attack, says that several passers-by came to the couple’s aid and helped them contact police, who have since made arrests in connection the incident.
“I am grateful for the people that called the police and helped us,” he wrote on Facebook. “And also for Brighton Police for getting the investigation moving as fast as they could. And because of that, all the boys that did this to us have now been caught, arrested and charged!”
He added: “No one should be discriminated for anything, we are all the same and all equal and no one should have to experience what we went through on Sunday. Thank god we now have justice.”
