Brighton is currently abuzz and ready for its 25th Pride parade, but there’s been a hold-up after Sussex Police were tipped off about a suspicious package located in Kings Road. Police confirmed this around 11:30am.
It’s still unclear what the package contains, but the area has been cordoned off and the parade route has been diverted via Grand Avenue.

The parade will now proceed from Lansdowne Place and along Western Road, then follow its original route from the clock tower, reports the Brighton Argus.
Not to worry though, we’re sure this delay won’t put a damper on Brighton Pride, and the parade will be as fierce, fabulous and fun as ever.
UPDATE at 12:38pm: The parade has started, reports the Argus. Follow their #BrightonPride live blog here, or follow the Sussex Police Twitter account for more updates.
