British man stabbed to death ‘with spear’ after bringing another man home for sex

A British man has been stabbed to death in the Algarve region of Portugal, apparently after inviting another man back to his house for sex.
It is believed that the victim is an ex-pat in his mid 50s, and that a 20 year-old man has been arrested after confessing to the murder. He is alleged to have been pulled over by police, and led them to the man’s body in a rented property, in the town of Pereiro.
Police are looking at the possibility that the British man invited the younger Portuguese man back to his house for sex.
The victim had not been seen for a number of days before his body was discovered.
“We don’t know for sure when the killing happened but we think it may have been Saturday,” a police spokesman told the Metro.
They added: “The Portuguese man says they had known each other for a while and met on Friday and went back to the Brit’s house together. He says he killed him during a row after some drinks.”
It is also alleged that a spear was used to murder the older man.
