Chris Mosier becomes first trans athlete to appear naked in ESPN’s Body Issue

US triathlete Chris Mosier has becomes the first transgender athlete to strip down for ESPN’s Body issue.
The 35-year-old, who became the first trans athlete to join a US national team that matched his gender identity when he landed a spot on the USA’s sprint duathlon men’s team last year, says that he’s wanted to be on ESPN’s Body Issue for over a year.
“I think the reason I felt so inspired to do it is that I’m finally at a place where I feel very comfortable with my body”, he tells the magazine. “And as a trans person, being in a body that didn’t really fit me for 29 years, now I feel very comfortable in my own skin.”
Mosier has taken to social media to show appreciation for the cover.
