Fox News has confirmed that Clueless star Stacey Dash will be joining the network as a contributor.
Dash was first rumoured to be joining Fox News two weeks ago (May 16), but she has now inked a deal to provide cultural and political analysis on the often controversial news network, THR reports.
Dash is best known for playing Dionne Davenport opposite Alicia Silverstone and Brittany Murphy in the iconic 1995 teen flick. She went on to star in ABC’s TV adaptation of the movie and has since appeared in films such as Nora’s Hair Salon 2: A Cut Above.
“Stacey is an engaging conversationalist whose distinctive viewpoints among her Hollywood peers have spawned national debates – we’re pleased to have her join Fox News,” said network executive Bill Shine.
Dash is a Republican supporter and has been an outspoken critic of current US President Barack Obama. During the 2012 presidential election, the actress appeared on TV show such at The View as a vocal supporter of Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
The date of Dash’s first appearance on the network has yet to be confirmed.
