Country singer takes selfie with Westboro protesters

Country singer Brad Paisley took a tongue-in-cheek selfie with Westboro Baptist Church protesters earlier this week.

The notorious anti-gay organisation, known for its ‘God Hates Fags’ tagline, was picketing Paisley’s concert in Kansas last Sunday (June 1) when the singer decided to make light of the situation by taking a selfie and sharing it with his followers. He posted the picture to Twitter, saying defiantly: “We’ll play loud.”

Westboro Baptist Church recently recorded their own version of Let It Go, the Oscar-winning song from Disney’s Frozen – attempting to turn it into a protest song against gay marriage.

Meanwhile, Paisley will appear alongside popstar Kesha and rapper Ludacris on the panel of ABC talent show Rising Star, which is set to debut on June 22 in the US.
