A couple have accused a postal worker of harassment and allegedly called them a homophobic slur.
Michael Coward and his fiancé Michael Vaughn were leaving their home in Ohio when they went to pick up their mail but were allegedly confronted by the postal worker who continually called them “white f*****s”, WBNS-TV reported.
Coward said: “I started arguing with her and she called me a f****t.
“And then she just kept going on and on and on about me and my fiancé being white f*****s.”
Their argument was filmed and although the postal worker never says the slur on camera, when Coward confronts her, she responds: “I called you what you are”.
Allegedly, the postal worker then removed their names off their mailbox and said they wouldn’t deliver post to them.
Coward added: “You’re telling us that you’re not going to deliver our mail because we’re quote, end quote ‘white f*****s’? I don’t think that’s how that works.”
The United States Postal Service (USPS) said in a statement: “The allegations made against a Postal Service employee are very concerning.
“These actions – if true – are not consistent with and don’t represent the values of the Postal Service organisation and will not be tolerated.
“You can be assured that this alleged incident is being fully investigated and that the Postal Service will take whatever action is appropriate.”
