Daily Mail columnist blasts Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black’s decision to start a family: ‘Pass the sick bag’
This is the most extreme example of the demands of selfish adults being given priority over the best interests of the unborn child'

Daily Mail columnist Richard Littlejohn has slammed Dustin Lance Black and Tom Daley’s decision to start a family.
The happy couple announced earlier this week that they’re having a baby when they shared a snap of themselves both holding an ultrasound scan on social media.
While the majority of reactions to the exciting news has been overwhelmingly positive, an increasing number of critics are finding increasingly insidious ways to hit back at the couple.
Mail columnist Littlejohn blasts the couple in his latest op-ed, in which he transparently attempts to disguise his seeringly blatant homophobia under the rouse that he’s concered about the child’s biological mother.
Suggesting their decision to start a family is nothing more than a “publicity stunt,” Littlejohn writes: “I still cling to the belief that children benefit most from being brought up by a man and a woman. Which is precisely what worries me most about the Daley publicity stunt.
“Here we have two men drawing attention to the fact that ‘they’ are having a baby. But where’s the mum, the possessor of the womb which features in this photograph? She appears to have been written out of the script entirely.
“We are not told her identity, where she lives, or even when the baby is due. She is merely the anonymous incubator.”
The controversial columnist fails to consider that the surrogate may simply have requested not to be a part of the announcement, and may want to remain entirely anonymous during the process. After all, where were the same remarks when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West used a surrogate? Oh, but that’s fine! Because they’re heterosexual right?
As with all the best well-researched opinion pieces, Littlejohn then goes on to make an assumption about the couple’s surrogacy process just so he can continue to criticise gay men for choosing to have a biological child.
He continues: “My best guess is that she lives in America, since it is still illegal in Britain to pay surrogate mothers other than modest expenses. That’s why wealthy gay couples, such as Elton John and David Furnish, turn to the States when they want to start a family.
“Still, I’m looking forward to the photos of Tom Daley breastfeeding his new baby,” adds Littlejohn.
