Don’t waste your vote on UKIP, says Kellie Maloney

Kellie Maloney has argued that people shouldn’t waste their time voting for UKIP in the general election.
The former UKIP candidate, who came out as transgender last summer, has suggested that people would be better off voting for the Conservatives if they want to “stop a Labour/SNP coalition” government.
“If we want to stop Labour and the SNP I think you’ve got to vote Tory. A vote for UKIP would be quite wasted I believe,” she told Sky News.
“I know Ukip are not going to like hearing that, but if they’re honest they would say the same things as well because they’re not going to get enough seats to wield any power. I think they’ll get four or five seats, maybe.”
“They seem to have no control,” she continued. “Some of the stuff that comes out from some of the UKIP people – I mean no normal person in the street could accept that, and I think that is their downfall. It’ll be interesting if Nigel gets into the House of Commons. It’ll be quite fun I think.”
“It would be nice to hear political parties speak up on civil rights and gender issues,” she added.
Meanwhile, a UKIP candidate has insisted that his claims that “being an arse bandit is nothing to be proud of” were taken out of context – find out more here.
