Electro Velvet deliver 2nd worst Eurovision result in UK’s history
By Ben Kelly
Electro Velvet’s performance in the Eurovision Song Contest gave the UK its worst result since Jemini’s infamous ‘nil point’ in 2003.
With just 5 points, Electo Velvet performed worse than Daz Sampson (25), Scooch (19), Andy Abraham (14), and even Engelbert Humperdinck (12), making Still In Love With You the UK’s worst entry in 12 years, and the 2nd worst of all time.
Electro Velvet – a specially formed duo of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas, haven’t yet made a comment about the result, but did retweet a few supportive message from fans.
The BBC tweeted a thank you to the pair, saying they had “put their hearts and souls” into Eurovision.
An estimated 6 million Brits watched the contest on BBC One on Saturday night, which was won by Sweden’s Mans Zelmerlow.
