Elton John part of the ‘gay Taliban,’ say right-wing Italian politicans

A group of right-wing Italian politicians have argued that Elton John is part of the “gay Taliban”.
In an interview with Italian news magazine Panorama, Dolce & Gabbana, who split after a long relationship in 2005, strongly spoke out against same-sex parents, saying that “the only family is the traditional one” and “things should not be changed”.
Among those to criticise the designers was Elton John, who over the weekend urged the LGBT community to boycott the brand over the duo’s anti-gay remarks.
Now, members of Italian right-wing group New Centre Right have compared the legendary singer’s campaign against the designers to the methods “used by the Taliban” in the Charlie Hebdo killings, despite there being no evidence that the Taliban were involved in the terrorist attack.
“The campaign launched against the two stylists by Elton John is shameful and intolerable,” said senator Roberto Formigoni. “Elton John is a Taliban, he is using against Dolce and Gabbana the same methods used by the Taliban against (the French satirical magazine) Charlie Hebdo.”
“The gay Taliban are trying to boycott Dolce and Gabbana just because they dared to say that … every child has a right to a mother and a father,” added senator Carlo Giovanardi.
