Entertainer Joe Longthorne passed away in his husband’s arms at the age of 64.
The entertainer came out as bisexual in his 2015 autobiography and met his future husband, James Moran back in 1997 and the two married in 2014 when same-sex marriages were legalised in the UK and were together for 21 years.
Best known as a singer and impressionist, Longthorne became a household name after performing in Search for a Star and went on to have a successful career and made appearances at the London Palladium as well as The Talk of the Town nightclub.
In a statement, it revealed that the entertainer passed away at the age of 64 in his husband’s arms.

It read: “It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that the nation’s beloved entertainer Joe Longthorne MBE passed away peacefully in the early hours of today [August 3] at his cherished home in Blackpool.
“Joe died in his bedroom, laying in the arms of his devoted husband of 21 years Jamie, with his rosary beads clutched tight to his chest.
“He leaves behind sister Ann and brother John. Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to Jamie and all the family at this sad time.”
