Europe’s longest-running LGBT choir ‘The Pink Singers’ for London show this Saturday
This Saturday (January 9), Europe’s longest-running LGBT choir, The Pink Singers, are to celebrate over 30 years of their musical development. The concert, titled ‘By Special Arrangement’, will showcase the widespread and diverse talent found in each of its choir members through performances of their very own unique compositions.
To be held in London’s Cadogan Hall, it promises to be a night in which absolutely everyone will be tapping their feet or singing along to the music. A true blend of songs has been chosen to soothe your ears after a hard week’s work.
The choir promises pieces from many of the greats: Kate Bush, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, the fabulous Whitney Houston and even a bit of Electric Light Orchestra – here’s hoping for ‘Mr Blue Sky’! The full eight-part harmonies are to turn your favourites into something new, wonderful and possibly even better.
Alongside these musical greats, the 90-strong choir is to sing pieces commissioned by the likes of George F. Handel, Paul Mealor and Matthew King. The diverse group also looks forward to showcasing compositions from its very own members and friends, including songs with poignant texts from the likes of William Yeats and Oscar Wilde.
As the final cherry on the cake, The Pink Singers will be joined by two home-grown groups – the bubbly Barberfellas and the exuberant Gin and Harmonics – each offering their own nuggets of fun to the evening. It’s an event that you’d be silly to miss. We’ll be there watching at 7pm sharp, so if you hear our tone deaf rendition of Whitney blaring from somewhere in the stalls at some point over the course of the evening, we can only apologise in advance.

Tickets range from £10-£40 and can be booked both through at pinksingers.co.uk/tickets or through the box office (020 7730 4500).
