Exclusive: Listen to remix of Annie’s Putin protest song

Annie has premiered a remix of her Putin protest song Russian Kiss exclusively on Attitude.co.uk.

The cult Norwegian pop singer teamed up with artist Bjarne Melgaard for Russian Kiss, a song and short film provoked by the anti-gay laws in Russia. The original track and accompanying video were released last Friday (February 7) – the day the controversial Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia got underway.

Now a fantastic remix of the track by Norwegian DJ Skatebård, retitled Norwegian Kiss, is available too – listen to it below.

Annie recorded Russian Kiss with her longtime producer Richard X (Will Young, Rachel Stevens, Liberty X) in London last November. Its lyrics “fight for the freedom of love,” the singer has explained, “and are pointed directly towards Putin and Russia”.

The original track Russian Kiss is available to download now. Part of the proceeds from the song and short film will go to the international LGBT group All Out.
