Father arrested after his transgender daughter was found murdered in Pakistan

A man has been arrested after his transgender daughter was murdered in Pakistan.
Maya was a 19-year-old transgender woman from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who had left home and was living with friends in the city of Peshawar.
When her family tried to bring her home over the weekend, her friends contacted the police after concerns about her safety.
But officers allowed the family to take her home to the city of Nowshera after her father gave police written assurance he would not harm his daughter.
However, her body was found just hours later with multiple bullet wounds beside the river bank in Nowshera.
According to Pakistan’s Samaa TV, police are searching for Maya’s uncle and brothers in relation to her murder.
