Fellow passengers defend Kate Moss: easyJet crew ‘grumpy’

Fellow passengers who witnessed the incident in which Kate Moss was removed from an easyJet flight from Turkey to London on Sunday after crew claimed she was disruptive, have rushed to the defense of the supermodel.

Moss was escorted off the easyJet flight at Luton airport, whereupon she reportedly called the pilot a “basic bitch” – although onlookers claim the cabin crew  overreacted to the 41-year-old’s behaviour as she travelled back from Bodrum, where she had been to help celebrate BFF Sadie Frost’s 50th birthday.

A fellow passenger told The Guardian, that it was in fact the “grumpy” cabin crew that were the real party poopers, as Moss and her entourage were not even sat together during the journey and Moss’s behaviour was far less extreme than the crew made out.

“I think easyJet must have seen a lot worse,” the passenger continued.

“You would have thought to have the police called for a passenger’s disruptive behaviour, you would see someone running up and down, or shouting, or endangering the plane, but there was none of that at all.”

The passenger added that she was surprised to find the police officers waiting on the steps of the plane once it landed, saying: “It was very unnecessary to call the police, it does cost money which could be spent catching criminals.”

Moss was apparently refused alcohol by crew, but rather than let that stop her, the model poured herself vodka from her own bottle. Moss allegedly later became unruly, prompting the pilot to radio for police to meet the flight.

“She called the pilot a ‘basic bitch’ as police led her off the plane, she was a little drunk and had a disagreement with another passenger on the flight, as she was refused alcohol and then went to serve her own vodka from her cabin luggage,” another passenger told the MailOnline.

“But she was not aggressive to anyone and was funny really, the easyJet crew was acting out of proportion.”

However, the whole affair didn’t seem to bother Moss much. In true supermodel style, she arrived at baggage reclaim looking “nonchalant”.

“She just turned up and said ‘they tried to arrest me’ to her friends, and then shrugged. She didn’t look bothered at all.”

Bedfordshire police confirmed that no arrests were made. “We were called to assist staff in escorting a passenger from a flight arriving into Luton airport. The passenger had been reported as being disruptive on the flight. Officers attended and escorted the passenger from the plane,” a spokesman said.

Much has been made of the fact that Moss reportedly called the pilot a ‘basic bitch’ as she was escorted off the plane – indeed, here at Attitude, it’s perhaps our favourite part of the story. It certainly seems to be a phrase Moss enjoys – here she is just two weeks ago, calling all the basic bitches with designer Marc Jacobs:
