A popular Australian priest has called out Israel Folau’s anti-LGBT stance.
Father Rod Bower has been dubbed one of Australia’s most outspoken and social media savvy priests and often writes headline-grabbing church signs and we applaud his most recent one.
After the devout Christian, Israel Folau, hit every headline around the world for his ongoing attacks on the LGBTQ community, Fr Bower hit back at the Australian rugby player with his latest sign.
Writing on the church sign, Fr Bower said: “LGBT friends. Folau is wrong.
“Don’t listen to him.”
Tweeting an image, the social media savvy priest wrote that although Folau has the ‘right to say it’ due to free speech, he has the ‘responsibility to oppose what he says’.
Fr Bower wrote: “#israelfolau is the price we pay for #freespeech He has the right to say it and I have the responsibility to oppose what he says. #LGBT”
